Everton’s deadline day loan signing Eliaquim Mangala is pleased to have come to Goodison Park and hopes that he can show his qualities at the heart of the Blues defence.
There were long odds on Everton signing anyone on deadline day, even with the best online live casino in the UK but the Blues eventually managed to get the signing over the line, and despite it not being the left back that many crave, Evertonians are happy with the capture.
The France international joins from Manchester City for the remainder of the season and will wear the number 13 shirt which he will hope to make lucky for some. Everton is a very good team with quality players, and I want to play in a team that has a lot of quality and ambition,” said Mangala.
I want to bring my experience and all my energy. There is already quality and experience at the Club but it is very important for me to come here and add something more to the team. I am fresh and fit and very motivated – and I am very excited about showing my qualities here.
I am ready to play and ready to win games – like tonight [the 2-1 victory over Leicester City], that is the most important thing for me.
As a defender, I am very solid, I like to challenge. Clean sheets are the most important thing. I have the mentality at the start of every game that we are not going to concede. That is the basic for a back-four – then, if you are very stable at the back, it is easier for the whole team. You cannot win every game 2-0 or 3-0, sometimes you have to win 1-0. To do that, you have to be solid at the back. That is the important thing – to have the same goals and objectives as the manager. It is very important for me and the team. It makes the game easier.”Manager Sam Allardyce is excited to have Mangala as part of his squad for the rest of the season too.Eliaquim adds power and strength to our defensive unit,” he said. “Also, he’s naturally left-footed – we don’t have a natural left-footer in the team at the moment. Michael Keane is not bad with his left foot and Yannick Bolasie is okay, but they are not naturally left-footed.
Mangala is naturally left-footed so it gives us a little bit of balance down that left-hand side defensively. And when he is playing the ball forward [from that position], he can play it much easier than a right-footed player can. He’s got Premier League experience and he was big money when City first signed him three years ago. It hasn’t quite worked for him there and as they bought another big centre-half for nearly £60million, I have to thank City for allowing him to join us on loan.”SHOW MORE CLICK HERE เล่น บอล ออนไลน์
